Catholic Montessori Homeschool Co-op
Primary and lower elementary Montessori ----
We are starting a part-time Montessori co-op in St. Leon, Indiana. The service is available to all children ages 3-9, recognizing that it will primarily be homeschoolers for the older children in that range. Christian faith will be incorporated where appropriate, but this is not a Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program for this age level (there are CGS atrium sessions available in the same building for these ages - at a separate time).
We will meet on Thursdays beginning in August -- 8:45-11:45 am. We can expand to Wednesday mornings or Thursday afternoons for anyone interested.
A separate program for 9-14 year olds will be available if I have enough interested children -- this program would be 2 1/2 hours to include the Montessori elementary Great Lessons and Key lessons as well as a combined Level 2 and 3 Catechesis of the Good Shepherd atrium.
Please inquire for more information --- leave a comment (all comments are moderated, so it will not be posted publicly) and I'll respond to you privately.
I am so excited to get started! Please let me know if you are interested!

Elementary Montessori Online
Introducing our first online Montessori training course!
Primarily for homeschoolers, this course will be useful for anyone working with the elementary age child - ages 6-12 (and a bit higher).
All albums will be provided as the course progresses.
● Mathematics
● Geometry
● History
● Zoology
● Botany
● Astronomy
● Language and Literature
● Art and Music
Monthly and one-time payment plans available.
Permanent discussion boards will be available to all fully-paid participants (available to all monthly payment plans as well - it becomes permanent when you are paid in full). After the course ends, you still gain from the community!
Two course options are currently available:
● 16-month course
● 8-month course
Pay for the program that fits your budget and family needs, but move at your own pace – it will all remain available for you when you are ready.
Both courses will start September 1st, 2011. Available August 1st to anyone willing to help assure all "bugs" are cleared.
Two ways to pay:
● Monthly: Total is $320 ($20/month for 16-month course; $40/month for 8-month course)
● One-time Payment: $300
Can I access all the albums right away?
Subsequent courses will have this option with the full-payment option.
Will I have access to a mentor?
Yes, each course participant has free access to one-on-one consultations with the course instructor throughout the duration of the course, plus one year. After this time, paid consultations are available. Discussion boards are permanently available.
Can I have a consultation without taking the course?
Yes, paid consultations are available for anyone, regardless of taking the course or not. Costs are based on the consultation needed.
Does anything have a due date?
No due dates - but we provide suggestions. We will provide you the information you need – usually more than enough for the month, so that you can work with your child to the extent your situation allows. Each month, you will receive another set of album pages, with additional information – access it as you need it; it will be there when you are ready for it and you will have permanent access to it.
I have taken Karen’s online course. Why is your cost higher than hers?
The elementary course covers at least ages 6 through 12, and many areas can continue to be used by middle school students. You also have access to a permanent discussion forum and a year's free consulting beyond the duration of your selected course length.
Will this course have any religious slant?
There will be no intentional religious slant to this course, and all religions will be represented fairly. As for evolution and other "hot-topics", adaptations will be provided when available, or an appropriate one will be developed (with the group or with the teacher) so that each person will have suitable album pages and presentations for their particular situation.
So... will this course include any Montessori religious education?
There will be an area in the discussion boards to specifically discuss the use of Montessori for religious education and faith formation. Anyone interested in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, a Catholic-rooted experience readily adaptable to most Christian denominations, can contact me directly for further information.
Where can I pay?
This link (click here) takes you to our payment page on Garden of Francis. You can then pay by check or by Paypal (you do not need a Paypal account to pay with Paypal).
Please contact me for any further questions!
